Close-Up A2
Close-Up A2 is an online English course for children and teenagers, developed in partnership with National Geographic. The learning system includes adapted texts inspired by some of the magazine's most interesting articles, as well as striking photographs and videos that make learning more engaging and closer to the real world.
In the online lessons, students develop their ability to communicate on a variety of topics while enriching their vocabulary and improving their grammar. The course combines language work, interesting facts about the world and activities that develop thinking, general knowledge and children's confidence to express themselves in English.
After completing the course, your child will be able to:
- read and understand adapted texts of around 600 words;
- use simple, continuous and perfect present, past and future tenses;
- recognise and use the Present Perfect in the right context;
- use zero and first conditional sentences;
- draw on a richer vocabulary related to the world around them;
- speak more confidently on topics such as daily life, free time, family, home, travel and personal interests;
- express opinions, share experiences and take part in short discussions;
- write short stories and letters, taking into account the purpose, genre and appropriate narrative tenses;
- listen to and understand dialogues and longer audio texts, picking out the main and specific information.

How do the lessons work?
The online lessons include clear explanations from the teacher, real-time exercises, interactive tasks, reading, listening, speaking practice and writing activities. Every child can ask questions, get guidance and feedback, and apply new knowledge in practical situations.
